Trace visibility for SAP JVM calling ABAP backends

We have instrumented a SAP JVM, which calls ABAP backend systems via RFC calls. We'd of course like to have visibility to these calls, but is that even possible since the protocol switches to RFC? Even if the calling process is Java, which is supported. I've tried creating custom services based on classes starting with "com.sap.aii.adapter.rfc", but this is all very experimental so far, and I haven't figured which (if any) of the methods are calling ABAP servers. Without knowing what each method really does, it's a bit of a guessing game.

Has anyone investigated something like this, do you think it's even doable with OneAgent?

This is a planned feature with the PowerConnect/Dynatrace integration (https://www.dynatrace.com/news/blog/dynatrace-and-powerconnect-join-forces-for-unified-observability...). SAP natively passes a common identifier between SAP ABAP and SAP Java applications, which allows this correlation to occur.

Yes!
