Hello Vaughn! How long have you been at Dynatrace?
I have been at Dynatrace since 2009.
What was the career path that led you here?
I have had positions as a sales engineer, technical account manager and technical consultant in the area of computing networking. This knowledge has been valuable at Dynatrace since it is internet-network standards based.
How has support at Dynatrace changed since you’ve been here?
When I came to Dynatrace in 2009 they were still Gomez, which was a small independent start up but they were growing and the support team was expanding also. The ticket system was Salesforce but the dev team was using JIRA so it was not efficient and there wasn’t a community or focused effort to maintain and promote the external knowledge until JIRA and Dynatrace community were fully supported.
How do you participate in the Dynatrace Community?
I try to answer forum Q&A posts whenever possible and send community links to product Q&A articles to customers. Also, I instruct customers on how to be more active in the community with their questions and any RFE (Ideas forum) posts.
What products do you support?
I support the Dynatrace synthetic product (backbone, mobile, last mile, PLM)
What keeps you at Dynatrace?
I like the innovative, fast paced APMaaS technology which is a growing, critical space for companies. Dynatrace is a market leader that sees their employees as valuable and critical to their success.
What is your passion outside of work? What do you like to do?
I like to run, stay active, read history, play and watch sports
What is your educational background?
I have Bachelors in Information Technology
Why should people participate in the Dynatrace Community?
People should participate in the community because it is a great resource for knowledge transfer between customers and Dynatrace. Customers gain knowledge which they can share and post their success or failures with knowledge posts and provide feedback on any changes negative or positive so the community is constantly improving. It is also a valuable area for Dynatrace updates for service & node disruptions, network mergers and maintenance schedules.
