Enterprise synthetic monitoring is their bread and butter. If you have ever used ClientVantage Active, or Private Enterprise, or Enterprise Synthetic Monitoring - here are the heroes that develop and maintain the ESM solution.

Hello team! How long have you been at Dynatrace?

Our average is 22 years; the longest is 33 years; the shortest is 14 years.

What products or components do you develop and support?

We develop, maintain, support, and test DC RUM’s Enterprise Synthetic Monitoring (ESM), including the Recorder. We have also had responsibility with some of our legacy products that are no longer supported. On rare occasion, we may still get involved on some of these including Server Monitoring and VantageView, especially in the Forum and while dealing with ESM customers.

Is your work only about product development?

No. We’re involved in all aspects of ESM, including development, maintenance, QA, automation, release engineering, and support along with some documentation.

How has the ESM evolved over recent years?

ESM has moved from using VantageView and the CAS to only using the CAS for alerting and reporting. ESM health alerts are still available, but the integration with the CAS continues to improve, including ESM health. ESM now uses the security in the DC RUM Console instead of CSS. In release 12.5, the Recorder’s OCR text capture and IR (image recognition) are significantly improved. Additionally, ESM provides for executing multiple non-GUI PowerShell scripts simultaneously; GUI PowerShell scripts can be executed as 3rd party scripts. QALoad and QALoad scripts are no longer supported. Additional exciting changes are underway for the future releases.

What keeps you at Dynatrace?

We have much loyalty to the company and to our product. This is a great group of people; we are like family and really enjoy our work and time together.

What is your passion outside of work? What do you like to do?

As a team, we tend to be Type-A’s who are very passionate about computers and our work with performance monitoring. And we love to have fun; parties are always a good thing!

Bill: Passions include software development, stock market, home improvement projects around the house and cottage.

Carol: I love spending time with family and friends, dancing and being in the outdoors - especially in nature, hiking, boating, and travelling.

Chaz: Passions include dancing, biking, and electronics.

Duane: Passions include basketball, travelling, and photography.

Ernie: I enjoy history, walking, and traveling

Joanne: I love spending time with family and friends, reading, playing cards, hiking, and travelling.

Mani: I love to listen to the audio edition of the Economist magazine, actively mentor my kids for their Science Fair projects, and love to read the Science and Nature magazines.

Marty: Passions are my family, golf, camping, computers, fishing.

Medgar: Passions include family with 4 active children as well as baseball and football. Go Lions!

Neal: Passions include Boy Scouts and camping.

Rich: I love the outdoors, especially hiking, golfing, and travelling.

Steve: Passions include playing basketball, golfing and being outdoors in the summer

Yuriy: I love travelling, classical music and movies, learning history in a wide sense, not only political history.

Does the Community help you in your daily work?

The Community is a good reference to assist in support and development.

Why should people participate in the Dynatrace Community?

The Community does provide just that – a sense of Community. It is good to relate to others as to how the products work and to expertise in using the products.

Thank you!
