Hello,
Can somebody answer this question please:
How does dynaTrace distinguish between the "Application Process Unavailable (Unexpected)" incident type and orderly, "Application Process shutdown" one?
What are the criteria for that?
Thanks,
Leo

Leo ... In other words, it will be helpful to configure Appl Process unavailable, because it will generate alert if the process gets crashed.
According to me, Appl Process shutdown, might not be much useful, because it will be alerting for the Orderly shutdown, that we would be anyways aware of.
But it depends on your requirements.

Leo,
Application Process Unavailable (Unexpected) indicates that the process the agent was monitoring was forced to stop, in linux a kill command issued, the app crashed or the server was shutdown/rebooted/crashed.
When an application is gracefully shutdown the agent can see it perform the correct sequence of processes to cleanily shutdown the app.
Anything further we would need a developer to help explain.
