Hi,
if you send e.g. an automatic report every day based on a dashboard, it will contain links e.g. like "open in dynaTrace". This hyperlink is in pattern http://[hostname]:[port]/[parameters and name of dashboard].
However, especially with the hostname approach you may run into problems, e.g. when this hostname cannot be resolved. For a more stable approach the IP address should be used or better: this should be customizable. For latter the reason might be if the dynaTrace server is internet facing, but has to be accessed through a proxy/web server, this ip or name would differ from the actual DT server hostname. Furthermore if it is not internet facing and you want to access it from the internal network then IP address would be sufficient. In most of the cases (at least for me) it appears hostname is not the best to go for as it is not working.
Any thoughts are welcome on this. I hope that can be fixed.
Best regards,
Dennis

Hi,
In fact we encountered this before and there is a solution for this in place: Please take a look at Automated Reporting#AppendixA:FAQs and Services#ManagementTab where we describe a setting that allows to do exactly that.
Dominik.
