Question by Shanmugan K. · Nov 11, 2014 at 02:02 PM ·

Need Infrastructure Data for One Month

Hi all,

I have got a requirement from customer that he would like to see past one month data of infrastructure begin monitored.

However, i could see only up to last 72 hours of data from the host Dashboards.

We are currently monitoring 16 Application servers and 20 Web Servers. Is it possible to get one month of data from DYNATRACE?

Do i need to do any modifications in the performance warehouse for the same?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

K.Shanmugan

A combination of the two options above might work for you.  It appears you can also set DEBUG mode, modify the filter as desired, and then save the dashboard in that state and it will retain the look and feel of the default Infrastructure dashboard (but you lose the ability to toggle between Application and Infrastructure via the "breadcumbs").  Also, it seems the Headers need to be set to "Default" mode for the drill downs to Host Health, etc. to work well.

Hi

Instead of using the debug mode I have another option. I would create a new custom dashboard with custom charts that show things like memory utilization, disk, CPU, .... for your different servers. The data shown in our infrastructure view is not only limited to be shown there. These are just regular measures that you can view in any chart. With that you are totally flexible in the timerange

It may not look "as nice" as the visualization we have in our Host and Process Health dashboard - but you can mix it with any other measures you want. Besides Charts I also see a lot of people using the Dynamic Measure Matrix and then putting these Host and Process Measures on these dashlets in combination with regular charts that show the long term trend

Hope this helps

Hello,

You can always use Ctrl+Shift+F9 to enter into Debug mode. Once in Debug mode, you can find under Diagnose performance, Infrastructure dashlet. If you open this dashlet in a new dashboard, you will be able to modify the timeframe just as any other dashlet would.

Hope this answered your question.
