Infrastructure monitoring in dashboard

Hi Team,

We need to generate report for Start center -> Infrastructure monitoring - > details for each server.

Hence could you please let us know how we can save it in a dashboard ?

Thanks,

Ashwin

Hi

For this you should be able to create a new dashboard and put a chart on it. On that chart you can put the "max Threads" measure on it. It will give you the number of physical worker threads for your web server agents.

As for total number of Httpd processes. There are two great plugins that we have on our community which tell you how many instances of a certain process you have: Linux Process Monitor Plugin and Windows Process Monitor Plugin. Once these are setup for your system you can also chart the number of httpd

Thanks Andreas.

We will wait for dynaTrace 6.1 and upgrade once its released.

We were developing a dashboard to capture below mentioned parameters for Web servers

1) No of Httpd processes

2) Threads per Httpd process

We have injected web server agents.

Please advice on this.

Thanks ,

Ashwin

Hi Ashwin. I think this was a bug fixesd in dynatrace 6. So - I hope you can upgrade in order to report on these dashboards. If you plan to upgrade you also want to know that dynaTrace 6.1 is almost here - its going to be released next week. So - in case you do upgrade I suggest you go directly to 6.1 as it contains a lot of great improvements

Hi Anton,

When we right click we are not able to get Report option.

And when we click on Report in Dashboard top pane it is not working.

We are using dynaTrace 5.6.

Kindly suggest.

Thanks,

Ashwin

But we are not able to select any hosts. Dashlet is coming empty .

Could you please suggest.

Hi there

Right click on the Host tab, or press Cntrl+Shft+E.  Then go to "Hosts" tab, Tick "Enable Dashlet filter", Click on Selected and Choose Hosts.  Then select ONE host only in the list below that.

Hi there

Put the Client in Debug mode (Ctrl+Shift+F9)

The Host Dashlet then becomes available in the Dashlets Tab on the left.  You can then use Filters etc. to get the Host you need.  Make sure you have the correct System Profile in the Source settings.

Then create your report.

Anton
