Force Dashlet to Have Higher Resolution

Hello!

I recently received a request from one of our teams to have 1 minute resolution data on their Dynatrace PDF reports for a 24 hour period of time. Of course the dashlet by default does not allow this, but we definitely store minute by minute data for 2 weeks (High resolution data).

Is there a way to enable higher resolution for select dashboards or perhaps during report generation?

Thanks!

Dave

Hi David,

I'm not sure if this helps but I had a request by a team here to get 10s intervals for a 24 hour period. 10s intervals are only possible for the past 1hr so I created a report to send off the 10s intervals every hour, on the hour. I would send these off in a csv file and the team then ran an automated script to grab the new file as it came in to use for their other monitoring tool. This doesn't give you live data but for my case it wasn't needed; the team just needed to see the 10s intervals to pinpoint issues.

David,
I was hoping for some sort of debug option that would allow me to bypass the limit that you have illustrated above.

It's simple enough to do in third party utility, but this is not designed to send automated reports (aka just using this to illustrate what I want).

Hi Dave,

You can change the data resolution for individual charts by clicking the Select Chart Resolution Icon in the top right of the chart. Once you save the dashboard it will persist and that will show in the report.

You are correct that by default its 2 weeks for the high resolution data. However, it seems that the largest time frame on a chart that will allow 1 minute resolution is 15 Hours 59 Minutes. I would guess this has to do with the amount of data points allowed on a chart?

Hope this helps,

David
