Question by Sharyl K. · Feb 10, 2015 at 01:21 AM ·

Installing mutiple sites (UEM/system profiles) in same Web Server

Hi,

we set up 3 systems profiles in dynatrace. Now we are going to install UEM for these 3 system profiles. These 3 systems profiles (web sites) are in same web server. How can I install UEM for each web site/system profile? how will web server agent service work? how will client utility work? will there be 3 copies?

Thank you.

Sharyl

Usually "starts" is best.  Just make sure you map each agent to the right system profile/agent group...

That means you have to be careful to match enough of the string in each mapping so that there is no chance of incorrect mapping because you did a "starts" mapping and each agent starts with the same string.  Just be sure to name your agents distinctly enough and to modify the mapping so that only one mapping will be possible per agent.

The mapping is done in the System Profile in the Agent Group, under Agent Mapping.

Hi Sharyl,

Please take a look at "Multiple Instrumented Web Server Instances on One Machine" section on the Web Server Agent Configuration page and see if that helps.

Thanks,

dave

Hi, Dave,

Thanks for the link.

please help me to understand this warning -

"Mind: How an Agent maps to an Agent Group in a System Profile defaults to a "Starts" comparison. The default Agent name in dtwsagent.ini is dtwsagent. If you call the second master Web Server Agent dtwsagent2 and leave the comparison at "Starts", the Agent will map into the same group!"

I am assuming I should NOT leave the comparison at "Starts" if I have two master Web Server Agent, right? where is the comparison setting?

Sharyl
