Question by Dennis M. · Feb 21, 2015 at 11:16 PM ·

System profile Monitoring has been deleted and not reoccurring

Hi,

I have a customer who accidentally deleted the default system profile "Monitoring". It is also not reoccurring again so he cannot access the OOTB charts (e.g. baselining charts). Any suggestion what to do in this case? How do we get the blue "Monitoring" button on the top of the client again as well?

Maybe the client should be changed so that the Monitoring system profile cannot be deleted at all? (as it is for dynatrace self-monitoring).

Best regards,
Dennis

The "Monitoring" Button or rather Auto Dashboard section is independent of the availability of the default Monitoring System Profile.

Could it be that the license was switched (to a non-prod license) or that the client has no connection to the server?

Hi Reinhard,

thank you for the quick response.

I thought so too that they are independent from each other,  but when it happened at customer at the same time, I was not sure anymore. So thanks for the confirmation. I dont believe it is due to a lost connection of the client. I will check the license thing once I am back tomorrow at the client.

Concerning the Monitoring system profile. Is it then no drawback when it is missing?

Best regards,
Dennis

The Monitoring profile is only there for the default easy setup (first time users, quickstart, default fallback).
I assume a typical setup will create it's own profiles, so it doesn't matter if it's deleted or not, though I think it should re-appear at least on server restart...

Hi Reinhard,

the environment where the "Monitoring" blue button is missing belongs to a Development Edition License. Is this the reason for absence ?

Best regards,
Dennis
