We would like to monitor .NET applications based on WPF on desktop, mainly to capture response time end-to-end. For a small application that used to take 2 secondes to start, it takes 7 secondes with Dynatrace agent. Some users have to logon and logout several times in a day and they have to start their applications each time The extra time to start their application with Dynatrace agent on the desktop could be unacceptable Does anyone have some expériences with Dynatrace agent on desktop? Did you find a way to reduce the start time of your applications?

Hi Paul
How "far away" is the WPF application from the collector? During startup we send the assemblies to the Collector for instrumentation. If there is low bandwidth or bad latency between your Desktop and the Collector you may experience these long delays. Therefore make sure your Collectors are "close" to the agent. One option - if póssible for you - is to put a Collector on the same machine as your Desktop application.
FYI: In the upcoming release - Dynatrace 6.2 (Spring 2015) - we have some improvements that will lower that instrumentation time overhead
