Odd behaviour setting up a collector

I was upgrading the collector on one of my servers from 5.5 to 6.1 and after installation the collector would start but would not write log files. I couldn't see the collector in the agents overview as well. To fix this I uninstalled it and ran the install with admin privileges and it started working fine, I'm an admin on the box so that's odd

I opened the agent configuration tool and its listed as inactive (which I've seen a couple times during these install, updating the collector puts the agent to inactive). The status for the agent shows this message

.net agent is still loaded but has been deactivated. Press restart or system reboot is required.

 

However, if I go into the agents overview on the server the agent is listed and seems to be working fine

I don't see any ill effects

That is very odd. Could you open a support ticket for this so that our engineers can have a closer look at this? Then please keep us updated on the outcome
