Question by Luis R. · May 28, 2015 at 02:44 PM ·

Which are the correct Dashlets for service calls, request restrictor or work manager and heartbeat

Dear Community,

my name is Luis and I started working with dynaTrace.

My task was to create a Use for Analysis Dashboard.

I came to a point where I cannot find the right Dashlet for the following points:

  • request restrictor / work manager
  • service calls
  • heartbeat

Could you please help me finding the right dashlets for these points?

Thank you in advance

Luis

Hi Luis

The Entry Point Dashlet shows you all PurePaths listed by Entry Point. An Entry Point in dynatrace is the method that starts a PurePath.

For specific entry points and certain types of method calls we have special dashlets that show you an aggregated view of these types of calls, e.g: Web Requests dashlet can you show all PurePath Entry Points split by URL. The cool thing on that dashboard is that you have additonal Grouping options through the context menu. give it a try and check the Group by URL & Query or URL, Query and Tier. Also - this dashlet can either just show you entry point URLs or "ALL" which means it also shows you URLs of e.g: Remoting Calls done WITHIN a PurePath.

For Web Services (AXIS, .NET Web service, ...) we have a Web Service Dashlet that shows you these calls split by web service method name.

For other remoting calls (.NET REmoting, RMI) we have the Remoting Dashlet.

I hope this is a starting point. I also suggest you check out the video tutorials we have on APM University as well as on our Youtube channel. http://bit.ly/dttutorials. Here I suggest you check out the tutorials around Diagnostics with Dynatrace
