Abend-AID Fault Analytics Plugin

I wanted to confirm the settings for the Abend-Aid Plugin...

Once plugin is installed and I try to drill into the CICS Abend, I'm asked for the the "Fault Analytic Server URL", as shown below.

Our CICS resource was a bit unfamiliar with this so I took a look at the Abend-AID Fault Analytics 12.3 installation guide and saw this snippet on page 53:

Is this the URL that we need to complete the integration??? I am waiting for our CICS resource to confirm and see if she can give me this info, but in the meantime could someone confirm? Also I'm assuming we'll need UID and Password credentials to complete the authentication to the fault analytic server?

I think it might be valuable to put this little bit of info the documentation as well...

Thank you,

Mike Shermetaro

Thank you Jim.

The only step we didn't have down was the Fault Analytic piece. Were currently setting up and will be moving forward with the integration.

Can't wait to get this going, our performance team is excited for this new capability. Definitely saves time being able to analyze abends ourselves.

Hi Mike,

Yes you're on the right track.  Specifically:

  1. Your CICS resource will have to get current with Abend-AID (12.3 with maintenance).
  2. Part of the 12.3 install includes a piece called Fault Analytics, which is a reporting tool that is served up from z/OS Unix.  This is new.
  3. The result of the Fault Analytics install is a URL that brings up the reports.
  4. It's that URL that you enter into the Fault Analytics plugin prompt.

Regards,

Jim
