SOLR Remote Monitoring Plugin

Hi guys,

Is there any interest from the community on a SOLR Monitor Plugin? I've just finished developing one but I am not sure if there is a demand for it and how to share it with the community properly.

It fetches the following metrics:

Example dashboard:

It is a very simple plugin that fetches metrics from the Mbeans handler that is included in SOLR 3.1+, no need to use JMX.

Regards.

Since it appears David is no longer with Dynatrace, I have taken his jar and made some minor improvements like translation from Portuguese to English, improved logging, etc. I have tested it locally with EasyTravel and it seems to work well. However, I did have an issue with a customer that had a large number of SOLR cores where the monitor did not work correctly (and I hope to troubleshoot that issue and correct whatever is wrong). I will work with Andi to get it on the Community Download page/GitHub. In the meantime, if anyone would like to try the new version, please contact me (dave.mauney@dynatrace.com).

Hey Dave thanks for that! I wasn't with Dynatrace when I developed it either! I'd like to receive the new version! david.lopes@cnova,com

I guess it was so professionally done I just assumed you worked here at the time! Thanks for the contribution...it is a very useful plugin. I sent you the new version. If you think the changes are acceptable, maybe we can use it for the base version?

Sorry, I've been busy with other implementations, here is version 1.0:

 com.david.Solr_1.0.0.jar

I will make it "prettier" before uploading it to github.
