Hi,
I have a customer that is very sensitive about how dynaTrace stores the passwords for the plugins, in particular for the DataPower plugin.
Does anyone know?
Regards,
Eddy

Dynatrace keeps it as an encrypted key in the System Profile xml where you've configured the instance of the monitor.
Hi Rick,
The Data Power plugin has its own user/password pair that is used to communicate with the Data Power appliance. Reference to an encrypted key in the System Profile is not applicable to the Data Power plugin.

Tagging the creator of the plugin eugene.turetsky@dynatrace.com for this question.
Hi Eddy and Harshal,
First, I'm not a creator of the Data Power plugin. I am just supporting it.
In terms of the question about the password: it is kept in the Dynatrace Collector Java heap for lifetime of the plugin. There is no access to the userid/password outside of the DP plugin process. It is encrypted with base64 encoding and sent over the network using SSL protocol.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Eugene.
