Bandwidth reporting for specific branch offices

Hi,

We have switched on UEM, for a small number of IP addresses, to analyse the impact of a network bandwidth change that is planned next week. The goal is to show with dynaTrace UEM whether there is any noticable impact of the change for the End User.

Characteristics:

  • Intranet Application
  • Offices are complete C-net IP address ranges
  • Bandwidth calculation is switched on (10 minutes)
  • dynaTrace Production edition 4.1 (latest SP)

Question:

  • How could we chart the bandwidth impact per branch office?

What I tried:

  • Create a BT on Visit level with splitting per C-net (based on Web-Request - client-IP with regexp postprocessing) with metric Bandwidth

Current Symptoms:

  • BT created fine, but Bandwidth is -
  • Visits do contain bandwidth
  • Bandwidth metric in BT empty

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Sjoerd

Hi,

I'm curious if you managed to resolve this. We have the same problem but the BT is defined on user actions and not visits. nevertheless, the chart is showing it is calculated specifically but not as part of the BT.

Hi Sjoerd,

Do you get bandwidth information for those requests in the visit dashboard? If not bandwidth calculation is not enabled for those request.

The other thing that comes in my mind is have you chosen the right measure type. As you want to split by bandwidth you have to select the "Visits - Connection Type" measure type when you create your measure.
