Question by Jason p. · Mar 26, 2013 at 09:34 AM · web performance monitoring

keypress Action on sensitive fields

We're using Dynatrace 5 UEM with all Basic Action capturing enabled and the jQuery Javascript pack enabled.

Sensitive information is showing up in DT upon keypress Actions in some input fields.

It seems like DT 4.1 had "doNotDetect" & "doNotInstrument" configuration properties but I don't see something similar in 5.

What is the best way of dealing with this situation?

Thanks Klaus.

I understand that enabling debug mode on the client should be done together with the support or enablement teams.

How do I do that?

Hi Jason,

You can deactivate detection of keyboard activities. This switches were visible in 4.1 by default and are now only visible if you switch the client into debug mode in the UEM configuration. Be aware that deactivating the detection turns it of for ALL keyboard events not only for some input fields.

Cheers Klaus
