Searching Visits is displaying the wrong version in IE

Hi guys,

I am fairly new to using DynaTrace. However, we set up a test box with Internet Explorer 8.0 but when we go through the visits the user account is showing up as coming from IE 7.0. Has anyone ever seen this type of error before? I have been trying to find a solution all morning and have had no luck. Any feed back is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Great to know you figured it out. And good to know for us that this is not a bug (smile)

So - when you drill to one of the PurePaths of one of the Web Requests of that user. And if you then open the Details Page of the Entry Point Node of your Purepath - can you tell me what User-Agent string was captured? We identify the Browser Version based on the User-Agent string. Maybe something is off in the way we detect it or something on your IE8s is changing the default User-Agent string of IE8

Thank you for the detailed instructions. It turns out the browser had the user agent string of MSIE 7.0 which lead me to dig a little further and found the option to disable compatibility on intranet sites. Now showing correct version. I appreciate your help! Thanks

We have made sure compatibility mode was not changed. It has been on IE 8

Thanks for placing this in the correct spot!

Hi. Is it possible that your browser runs in compatibility mode? If that is the case IE8 will "fake" IE7.

BTW - I will move this question over to the dynatrace forum
