For a dynaTrace 4.1 installation, we have 2 systems A and B. Some servers in A call servers in B. Both A and B profiles have an Agent Group tier named "Application Servers". Each of these tiers has a different Agent Mapping scheme shown below:
Profile Tier Agent Mapping
--------- ------------------ --------------
A "Application Server" -starts with "ApplicationServer-FA"
B "Application Server" -starts with "ApplicationServer-prd"
The Transaction Flow diagram for system A shows several agent group boxes, one called "Application Servers". It contains application servers from A (expected) as well as those servers from B involved in transactions (unexpected). Interestingly, it also merges all ORACLE database servers involved in txn flow into a box called "ORACLE", independent of profile name.
My questions are:
1. Is this the way dynaTrace works i.e. merges all servers from any profile with the same Agent Group name?
2. If so, other than changing the Agent Group name in the profile, are there other methods for separating servers from other profiles into their own group boxes?
