Question by Jon P. · May 14, 2015 at 12:29 AM · diagnostics

view http headers in request in dynatrace?

Hi,

Is there a way to view the http headers or other data in the request in dynatrace? (e.g. from purepath dashlet).

If not, fine. I remember seeing this but not sure how to get to it.

Thank you,

JP

Just one clarification regarding where this data can be found in the PurePath.

If you have a web server in front of an application tier, the first line of the PurePath will be from the web server.  The request and response fields that you configure in the web server sensor will be shown when you open up details for this first line.  The data collected by the sensor in the application tier (i.e., the servlet sensor or ASP .NET sensor) will be shown if you collect details from the 4th line.

Also, you can get more details from the application sensor than you can from the web server sensor – such as session attributes.

Here are some screen shots from the EasyTravel demo application system profile that should help:

  1. Extact from the Web Server agent (ET_WebServerSensorProperties.png)
  2. Extract from Servlet (ET_ServletSensorProperties.png)
  3. View in PurePath on first node in tree (ET_PurePathWithHeadersAndAttributes.png)

HTH,

dave
