Baseline calculation

Hi,

I have a BT where i have a measure in filter section and i have another measure (internal webrequest with in that PP) in the Calculate Results section. if i am baselining this BT, what would it baseline based off of? the response time/error rate based on the measure in the filter section or the one in the Calculate results section or both? If i want to baseline only based on measure in the calculate results section, can i do that?

Hi Venkata,

The baseline is calculated for Response Time, Failure Rate and Throughput only. It does that for BTs that are selected to be in the Application Overview.

Reference in the docs: Baseline and Smart Alerting Explained#BaselineCalculations

True. But my question is, will it be calculated for the parent purepath only or will it be calculated even for the non-entry web request?

For example -  In the attached screenshot, we have a 3rd party which is being called within our search purepaths.   I have this measure in the filter section and calculate section. Because of this in the filter section, i am assuming all the purepaths which calls this 3rd party are used for baseline calculation. My question is will it baseline the response time for the 3rd party call itself?

2nd question is - i always saw alerts for response times from auto baseline, but not for throughput. will the alert be triggered if the throughput or requests are less than the baseline?

We do not have incidents created for throughput deviations, no.

To answer your question, it is the PurePath Response Time which is counted, so the overall response time.

Thanks Rick. Would this be a feature request if we want to create baselines for the non-entry points?
