Hi,
By default a measure is included to split by application for every new business transaction. Even when split by Application is removed, the business transaction will still show application splittings when charted. After searching through the community I read that application splitting is done implicitly as all our BTs are split by Application in order to be able to put it on the AppOverview. I'm wondering if there is a way to remove the implicit application splitting? I have a client that does not want the results split by application for a specific business transaction. I have also only been able to test this on 5.6 and 6.0, so if this has been changed in 6.1 or 6.2 that would be good to know as well.
Thanks!
Brittany

Yes, you can lock a BT to specific application. You still need split by Application by default. In fact don't ever remove it if you don't have to.
Here is how : Once you created your BT XXXXX; go to Measures > Business Transactions > select your BT XXXXX -> right click Response Time & select Edit -> Details tab -> select "calculate only for selected applications" -> select your application.

Here's the behavior in 6.2, if you create a PurePath business transaction and remove the Application splitting. (My example had no splittings at all.)
First, the business transaction dashboard still shows the BT as split. The dashboard will show a separate row for each application.
Second, when you add a result measure from the BT to a chart (say, the default PP response time), the picker will not give you the ability to select whether to split the measure by application. "All" will be selected, and all selections are grayed out.
Third, the chart will show a single (unsplit) series, even if you select "Split by Application" in the chart splitting mode.
Fourth, if you select all rows in the business transaction dashboard, right-click and select show measures in chart, the chart(s) will not be split by application, even if you select "Split by Application" in the chart splitting mode.
I'm happy to also try this in 6.1, but it will be several days before I can get to it.
