Exclude JS injection for certain URIs

Dear Users

We want to exclude certain URIs/ subdomains from the injection with the dynaTrace JavaScript. So far we've done something like this:

System Profile > Apache > Sensor Configuration > (Sensor Pack) Web Server (Category: Network; Capture: active and start PurePath) In the window that opens we have the checkmark set for "Measure Request/Response Sizes". At "URI Filter" the radiobutton "Exclude the following URIs" is set. Here we've added several URIs like specific XML and TXT files on our server.

Now we've added something like ".foo-domainname.com" and "subdomain.domainname.com" For both the Match is set to "contains" and "starts". We can see that the JS is still injected on the specified URIs. What is the correct way to exclude URIs from getting injected with the js file?

Was this every resolved? I have a client who wants to inject into a single subdomain only. For example, for all requests into myclient.com there is no injection but for blah.myclient.com the want UEM data. My understanding is that these are being served by a single web server.

Hi Samuel,

This one is available for all modern dynaTrace versions, simply define an Application for the host/domain pattern they want to enable UEM on, go into the User Experience dialog -> Application specific settings (tab) and enable it for that Application.

Ah. I see. Okay we are still on 5.5. So we will have to update. Hopefully then we can solve our problem.

Which version of dynaTrace are you running? This feature was introduced with 5.6

Thanks for the information. Okay. I had a look at the Sensor Configuration > User Experience. Comparing our Properties window with the window attached in the documentation we are missing the part with the "URI-specific injection behavior". I have the Mac client in front of me by the way. Could that be the "corpus delicti"? (smile)

Hi. The JavaScript injection is not handled through the Web Server Sensor Properties but the User Exerience Sensor Properties. There you can specify whether injection happens automatically and for which URLs you want to exclude injection. For more information check the following page and search for the User Experience Sensor Properties: Sensor Properties
