6.2 migration host monitoring changed

Warning in Prepare to Upgrade document:

"As of 6.2 host monitoring changed significantly. Monitored hosts are no longer mapped to System Profiles, but are managed globally in a section called Infrastructure. Because of these changes, historical host monitoring data that was collected before the migration and is bound to System Profiles will no longer be accessible when using Dynatrace 6.2."

Can we have an example of host monitoring data bound to System Profiles before 6.2 WILL NOT work after migration?

Sharyl

CPU usage of a host: prior to 6.2 you could chart that by using a system profile as a source. Now this data will no longer be accessible inside the profile.

I can still chart for example CPU of agent host by system profile. Please see screen print - the steps I did:

create new dashboard -> select server name and system profile name from dashboard property -> Add series -> select measure of Host CPU Total Time / Host Memory Usable -> I am able to see the charting.

Sharyl,

that's correct you can still do this but you cannot see the host data from before the upgrade from 6.x to 6.2 as the data is now stored differntly. So if you have migrated host data from 6.x to 6.2 you will not see that data.

Reinhard
