Our customer would like to use a "clone pool" to duplicate traffic on a F5 load balancer and send this traffic to the AMD for analysis.
This F5 feature is described at http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/8000/500/sol8573.html
The customer argues that such a clone pool is less resource intensive than a SPAN port.
But it seems the clone pool needs an IP-adressable system to send it's data to - AMD sniffing NICs do not have an IP adress.
Does anyone have experience with using F5 Load Balancers to provide data for DCRUM analysis and can comment on this "clone pool" option?
Thank you,
Stefan

With a bit of googling I found a description of how to use such F5 clone pool to forward traffic to APM devices without an IP address:
https://devcentral.f5.com/questions/clone-pool-and-port-mirroring
If anyone has done the same with a Compuware AMD I would very much like to get your feedback how it worked.
Thank you,
Stefan
