AMD interface shows "N" under link detected but no alarm

Hi,

When running capture via RUM console on AMD, I came to know that one of interface was showing disconnected. When logged on to AMD, i could see that that AMd interface was set to capture traffic but under link detected, I can see "N".

My questions, what alert this should generate? So far, I can not see any alert which specify this event.

appreciate your kind response.

Thanks

Taral,

Open /usr/adlex/log/rtm_perf.log and look for something similar to:

AL	Alarms
AL	No traffic on monitoring interfaces:eth2 eth3 - check configuration or cables.

around the time when it happened.

Hi Adam,

Thanks. Does this type of alert generate SNMP trap and can it be reported to monitoring system? I can see that above is manual job to check on AMD itself but we would be much interested in automatic alarm trigger to say that AMD has seen disconection on its interface.

Sure, take a look at Configuring SNMP Traps on AMD and SNMP Traps in Agentless Monitoring Device.
