Question by Lucas M. · Mar 03, 2015 at 07:59 PM ·

Synthetic Enterprise Metrics within a DCRUM custom metric.

Hi everybody!

A customer needs to see the server time + network time, (ignoring the client time since they are robots...) on a EP dashboard.

I've tried to convince the customer that the client time is important, but he is really stubborn...and asked for this "custom metric".

That said, I would like to know if it is possible to configure a DCRUM custom metric based on Synthetic Enterprise metrics?

If so, can anyone share the procedure?

Thanks in advance

Lucas,

You can define a custom metric that performs arithmetic on pre-defined metrics.

Lucas, I'm not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but the DC RUM alerting system has a functionality called "Compound metric". See Configuring Trigger Conditions for Alerts for details.

Here's a screenshot taken from the definition based on Synthetic and Sequence alert type, using a compound metric based on a sum of server and network time.

Have you checked around in the DMI?

What version are you on?

Hi Ulf,

The whole environment is currently on 12.2.

I've located the metrics server time, network time and client time on the DMI, and I would like to join the Server and Network time in one custom metric and use it to generate performance alerts...

I did not found any info about this metrics "fusion".
