Question by Purna A. · Mar 26, 2015 at 04:54 PM ·

how to stop dns reverse lookup from ADS and CAS

Dear All,

We have a problem in DCRUM which is situated behind firewall and the problem is with  dns resolver which is trying to perform dns reverse lookup for ip addresses from ads machine to whois.arin.net , All those hits are getting blocked at our firewall.  Can we stop  ADS to perform dns reverse lookup towards external?

Thanks for your help..

Hi Harshal,

Thanks a lot for your reply.. We have followed the same link already.. Traffic has now not going out with 137 port , instead it is going out with port 80 and doing reverse dns lookup.

Thanks,
Purna.

Hi Purna,

Can you please check if you have the right DNS Server set in http://<your_CAS_or_ADS_IP>/atscon, then click on Advanced Properties Editor.

Search for RTM_DNS_Server and verify that the DNS server is the right one.

Regards,

Harshal
