Citrix - Server Session Termination Errors

Hi.

We are observing thousands of "Server Session Termination Errors" in the Citrix landing page's TCP error column, however both "Network Performance" and "Server Realized bandwidth" are healthy. What could be causing this behaviour? Perhaps a firewall keep alive issue?

Regards,
Arild

Hi Arild.

Very likely , your server hasn't received an ACK. This causes the session to become half-open and triggers the RST.

I would guess that a device such as a Firewall or something else is being "smart" and not forwarding "empty" ACK's.

You have a dirty job infront of you, backtracking to find the culprit - or go to the Network guys and offer them a beer (big grin)

Hi Ulf.

We've narrowed it down to one particual server in the Citrix farm that is generating this error. I've discussed this with our network guys and they are looking into it. We've also been able to identify which published applications on the particular Citrix server that might be impacted by this.

Cheers Ulf!

Arild
