Need to know KPI's to focus on when using DCRUM ....

I am using DCRUM from quiet long time, need to know KPI's to focus on when monitoring any application or server using Data Center real user Monitoring which works through agentless monitoring device. Generic one is Response time with breakdown, application availability and performance. what else apart from this which can be interesting ?

Shakti,

For monitored applications, you can also look at the "Applications" report. Access it from the Reports -> EUE Overview menu on CAS and start analyzing data by looking at the Application Performance Overview chart, which shows the performance of the top five applications (according to the number of unique users) over the selected period. If you notice a significant drop in application performance at a particular hour, click that point on the chart to see more details. The table below the chart lists the defined applications. The most important statistics include Performance, Unique and affected users and Failures that occurred over the analyzed period of time.

For monitored servers, you can look at the "Servers" report that shows the Requests breakdown, the number of Slow operations and the number of Users affected by performance problems.

To read more about KPIs to consider, see Define and Prioritize Goals, Objectives, and Requirements.

Regards,

Karolina

Shakti,

Important metrics to look at when monitoring application performance are things operation time, number of operations, availability, client RTT, errors (depending on protocol). It also depends if you are looking at performance, network or availability. The report labeled Metric Charts does a great job by showing you relevant metrics for a particular application. I tend to use the Data Center Analysis dashboard for an overview of the application then use Metric Charts to try to find a pattern problem or get a better idea how the application performs.
