New License File received, how to apply

Ricardo,

Thank you.

Unfortunately, there seems to be no such button anywhere on the screen. See the screenshot below.

No Problem Team,

Please look at:  https://community.dynatrace.com/community/display/DCRUM123/Managing+Licenses

Point 3, Sub-Item (3) You are looking for the Actions button, on the DCRUM Console, License Summary Screen, with that button you should be able to apply the License file.

Please advise should you require further assistance,

Ricardo,

I have looked at our environment, but I'm not sure how to deploy the license. Do I use the cpwr.exe service or do I do it through the interface?

Hello Ricardo,

I'm not exactly sure what your question is.

You should use the DLM64.exe application to apply your license. The default install location is: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Compuware

Place your license.xml in the license folder (inside the default directory). Then, after you've opened DLM64.exe, add the license file to the DLM app.

To make sure the server has recognized the new file, navigate to your server in the browser. Log in. Then go to Tools, Diagnostics, Console. Go to page 3 and click reload licenses.

If you have remote servers that need to use the same license file, run the cpwr.exe file on your Master server (the one with the license file). This will install the license service. Then, you can run DLM64.exe on your other machines and add the source 7188@[MasterServerName] and they will share the license.

I hope this helps!

Regards,

-Brett Barrett
