Hi, For monitoring our Exchange platform, we have to choose between Dynatrace and Microsoft Scom so for this purpose we need to have some experience feedback from Dynatrace users. Please provide us with some advices/feedback about monitoring Exchange via Dynatrace. Regards, Lahcen

Hi Lahcen,
Dynatrace DC-RUM seems to be a good fit for you. Links below can give you more insight.

Hope this helps

Martina's suggestion is perfect and will allow you to monitor Exchange on a network level, something SCOM (at least to my knowledge, but I could be wrong) does not handle.
Additionally, Dynatrace AppMon can use monitoring plugins to retrieve some statistics from PerfMon as well.

Thank you very much Valdyslav for your answer, so Microsoft Scom would be a better alternative ?
I found this article about Active directory counters : https://community.dynatrace.com/community/display... , what do you think ?

It depends from the goal and license costs. If you have license for dynaTrace you can use it for .Net part of Exchange monitoring + you can use free dT plugings for getting information using WMI from performance counters (they installed in Windows OS where Exchange has been installed)

I dont think dynaTrace can be good solution for Exchange monitoring. Exchange has a lot of thing not related to .net environment, like Store, Transport roles (smtp) or Active Directory. dynaTrace can be great if you wanna to see user experience with OWA or ECP
