Question by Sandeep R. · Sep 22, 2015 at 12:30 PM ·

Export Session from dynatrace client

We had activated the DT agent for specific application on 14th of this month, However due to some other compatibility issues, we had to disable the DT agent on that host with 24 hrs.

Now,we want to export and analyse the data captured during that 24 hrs, when I try to set the filter for time frame on the purepath dashlet, all I could see is the data for only half an hour.I understand that the analyse PP limit is set to 10000 and the number of transactions/PP are too much to display.I have tried increasing the analyse limit, it leads to slow performance or crashing of DT Client. Also even if I provide specific time fame on edit filer or dashlet filter, i still shows only 10000 PP's and for some other time frame(Screenshot attached)

1) Is there anyway I could export the entire 24 hr data to local and analyse it later?

2) If not at least can I export exact/specific hours complete data, which could be more than 10000 PP's?

Any suggestions ??

Hi

to export a large number of purepaths, go to your cockpit and right click on the relevant profile.

Select session storage, session export. You will be prompted for a time period and a location for the exported data.

It will only work if the purepaths are still available in your session store. Typically it only lasts a few days. To find out how far back the data goes, right click on the system profile and select details. You should see a time stamp for the oldest purepath.

BTW, to view more than 10,000 purepaths on the purepath dashlet, right click on the table and select "result limit", 30,000 for instance. Using unlimited could crash your client as the only limitation is the amount of RAM allocated to the process.

Regards

Flo

Thanks Florent for reply,

Exporting directly from the system profile will include the PP's across all applications and will make the export file too big and time taking to export as well.

I'ld like to know for an option that could just export, all for the 24 hr data exclusively for that application.I've tried setting the filter on the the dashboard and dashlet, the result is as shown in the above screenshot.

Also, when changing the analysis result limit to 30000 slows down the activities on the DT client and mostly leads to crashing of DT Client.

Unfortunately there is no export filter option per application. There is the following RFE that asks for exactly what you are looking for: https://community.dynatrace.com/community/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=140608324
