Change listening port for web interface?

Hello -

I am trying to change the port that the 6.3 dynatrace webui listens on. So far I have changed the webuihttpsport value to 443 (as an administrator) and tried restarting the dT services, and restarting the host.

Still, the change does not seem to stick... Every time, it reverts to the default port of 9911. Anyone have any guesses why my configuration change is not working or would be overwritten by default values? I'm probably missing something simple...

Thanks!

Hi Joel, the web-ui uses both 9911 and 443 - dont think there is a way right now to shutdown 9911. You can access the web ui via https://<serverhost> and this will use port 443.

Hi Srikar,

I don't see anything running on port 443 by default.

Try shutting down the dT Server, make the change, then restart it.

It appears you're making the change while the system is running, so when you execute a shutdown, the system writes out the latest values to ensure they are persisted, thus writing over your edits.

The system isn't really designed to allow such edits directly, but with the above procedure, it should work. FYI: In v6.5, this value is extended into the GUI so you can make this change easily just like the other ports.

This worked, thanks for your help. Any little thing I can do to make it easier for my users is a win!
