Question by Sathwika V. · Feb 23, 2017 at 09:28 PM · configuration uem business transaction web performance monitoring production 6.2

Trying to change default performance baseline

Are we able to change tolerating range (4 sec - 16 sec)? and frustrated range either. because these are not matching our industry standards.

Thanks,

Sathwika

Hello Sathwika,

Yes. It is available in the 6.2 version.

You are already there, just select the Page Action and then on the right side you will have an edit button otherwise double click to open.

Regards,

Babar

Hello Sathwika,

By default it multiplies with 4x but there should be a way to change this formula in some files, otherwise it will be 2.5 - 10 seconds.

Lets wait, someone will provide the informaiton.

Regards,

Babar

Babar,

In the link you provided me it mention we can change the visit experience zone it will change the threshold of tolerating (as of my understanding). But i am not able to find that option under the general tab.

Thanks,

sathwika

Hello Sathwika,

Visit Experience Zone is to modify the below thresholds, because in earlier versions this provision was not available.

  • Users have a frustrating experience if:
    • Their last action failed ("The Web site does not work - I'm leaving!")
    • Their last action was frustrated ("The Web site is too slow - I'm leaving!")
    • More than 50% of all actions were frustrating
  • Users have a satisfying experience if:
    • No action failed
    • More than 50% of all actions were satisfying
  • Users have a tolerating experience if their experience is neither frustrating or satisfying, which means that:
    • Their last action was not frustrating or failed
    • Less than 50% of all actions were satisfying
    • More than 50% of all actions were at least tolerating

Hi babar,

Thanks for APDEX information, it's very useful. But nowhere it mentions how or is possible to change or customize the apdex formula according to industry standards ??

Thanks,

Sathwika

Hello Sathwika,

If I am not wrong the APDEX formula is already following the industry standards.

What I do not know to customize the performance baseline threshold for page load as you said 4 seconds (satisfied) to 10 seconds (tolerating).

Because the baseline configured time multiples 4 times for the tolerating actions.

Someone from the development will definitely share the way to customize. So stay tuned !!!

I found some really good following posts, so you read and find the experts comments about APDEX and User Experience Index.
