We would like to have a status dashboard for our services showing green/yellow/red availability (similar to Atlassian's statuspage.io). A single service may consist of databases, multiple docker containers running on different hosts, a web server etc.. There are also background services we would like to display that have no web front end.
Is there a way we can leverage Dynatrace for this purpose, and if so what would be the best practices? Should we group components of a service using tags, or push custom metrics with our definition of availability using a custom Dynatrace plugin? We could use the Dynatrace API to read metrics out into our own dashboard service.
Has anyone had experience setting something like this up, or is this not a good usecase for Dynatrace?
