Question by Pablo S. · Feb 20, 2018 at 05:12 PM · configuration 6.5 dashboard alerting business transaction monitoring diagnostics measures

Violation Detection Settings for individual Split values

Hello. We are in the process of defining some incident rules. Our customer wants to be alerted about the failure rate of the individual applications of their environment and they want to configure the thresholds of each one based on their baselines.

We are relying on the Applications out-of-the-box functionality/incident rule "Failure Rate too high", using a Monitored BT which is a modified "Web Page Request" BT (just discarding the Complete URI split value to account the apps, not the individual URIs - image1.png).

We see that we can change static values of the baseline thresholds of each split value (individual apps) throught the "Configure Baseline" option, but we want to change the relative and absolute deviations instead. Is there a way to do this? We only see that we can change that for the whole BT, but not to individual split values.

We thought of define different BTs for each app (Ex. image2.jpg for the EITV_INTRA app) and include all of them in the "Monitored BT" list. Is there another optimal way to do this?.

Thank you. Kind regards

Hi Pablo,

it's currently not possible to set relative deviations for specific splittings, your workaround with the dedicated BTs will work (and is so far the only way to get baselining to work as you want). Best regards,

Peter
