How long can Dynatrace Managed work offline?

nkobayashi1

Hi,

We understand that Dynatrace Managed needs the internet connection for Mission Control.
But our customer would like to know how long the monitoring and dashboard can be continued when Dynatrace Managed Cluster go offline due to troubles.

Could you tell me about that?

Thanks,
Noah Kobayashi

Hey @Noah K.,

Monitoring won't stop if the cluster temporarily looses it's connection to Mission Control.

However, if Dynatrace is offline for more than 14 days, all monitored hosts will be disabled.

I hope that helps.

Best,

Max

Hello @Max K. , thanks for your answer here as i also had exact same question.

It will really help if you cna also share the official documentation link that mentions the statement : "if Dynatrace is offline for more than 14 days, all monitored hosts will be disabled."

Thanks

Himanshu Mor

Hey @Himanshu M.,

I did some research and talked to our Product Managers. It seems like there is no official documentation yet, but it will be added to the official Help pages in the future.
Best,

Max

To keep your cluster pro-actively supported we recommend to keep constant connection to Mission Control. To get information what data is sent and how often, check out doc's data exchange section. If your cluster gets disconnected, the most critical communication requests will be automatically retried - for example, billing requests or license verification. For connection outages longer than 14 days (7 days for trials), cluster disables allowance for license overages. Monitoring of your applications within license volumes and quotas is not affected by Mission Control disconnection..

For example:

You are licensed 100 concurrent host units and 10,000 host unit hours. After 14 days of disconnection to Mission Control, you can monitor only 100 host units. Everything above that limit is disconnected.
