Data buffering of OneAgent/SecurityGateway

nkobayashi1

Hi,

When OneAgent cannot connect to SaaS Cluster due to network problems, for example, how long will measurement data be kept in OneAgent?
And if the connection between the Security Gateway and the SaaS Cluster is lost, how long will measurement data be kept in SG?

We concern about the loss of measurement data.

Thanks, Noah Kobayashi

Hello,

Anyone can answer for this question?

We have this question too. (from customers technical admins)

It is clear to me - that connection must be good, but they try investigate some cases, in which we have situation with network problems (OneAgent <--> Dynatrace Server)

OneAgent use 400mib . You can refer this file ruxitagent.conf file to confirm . For ActiveGate it is not fixed value , it will be 80% of available memory in Version 152.

Thank you. It is clear now.

Hello,

I have a question about OneAgent buffer size.

I found "BufferSize 400mib" in ruxitagent.conf.

..\dynatrace\oneagent\agent\conf\ruxitagent.conf

# Maximum amount of memory that may be allocated by protobuf messages
BufferSize 400mib

[Q] Can I change the buffer size? Is there an upper limit?

I've got reply from Myrvin-san.(by chat)

I'll share this information. Please see below.

This parameter is not configurable.

Dynatrace designed the agent to be light weight, although we have a buffer, it is not recommended to modify what has been set. The recommended way is to either place 2 or more Active Gates for the setup.
