Running commands as dtuser

I understand the dtuser account is created without a password and has limited capabilities set. Is it possible to run the oneagent start/stop command as this user and does it have sufficient privileges to execute other 'operational' functions required? I'm hoping we dont have to switch to root for this.

Thanks

Hi Jonathan,

The dtuser created during OneAgent installation is used internally by OneAgent to launch unprivileged processes, it shouldn't be used for any other purpose.

As for the "oneagent start/stop command", this - similarly as the installation - must be performed as root user. This is not OneAgent specific however, such a behavior is standard for services installed on Linux as the system services management requires root privileges.

Regards,
Tomasz
