Need clarification regarding the Certification scoring

Dear support,

I had taken the Dynatrace Associate certification today and was awarded a score in percentage. But was not marked what the passing percentage was. In the beginning of the exam i could note that 72% was the pass percentage for today's session of mine. Can you please confirm that and also let me know regarding the possibilities of any retake for the test as well?

Regards,

Rangapriya

Hello Rangapriya,

Here is some information from the Dynatrace University on how the tests are scored:

"The Angoff Method is used to determine passing standards for the APM Certification Program. For each exam, the goal is to determine if the examinees have sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the expected performance level.

...

The exam is tested and rated again by a second tier of SMEs and any further adjustments are made. These ratings are compared and averaged and the passing score is set based on this data. For example this can mean that a cut score for one exam could be 69% and a different exam could be 91% to achieve a passing score. The exact percentage is always determined by the average."

I am not sure about how often you can retake the test within a certain time period. I know there is a limit but I can't recall. Here is a link on frequently asked questions...at the bottom of the page there is a contact us link that will get you to the DT University team who will be able to help you with these concerns.

Hi David,

Thanks for the clarification. This was the same I could refer on the FAQs. Since my score had less than 1% difference from the clearing percentage, I had specific query. But thankfully I also got informed by Dynatrace certification resource that my score has been rounded already to the closest integer manually and that I am now certified successfully.

Regards,

Rangapriya.

That is great to hear. I am glad that you have joined the ranks of people who are Dynatrace Associate Certified. Congratulations!

Thanks,

David Nicholls
