Create application based on hosts

Hi,

We have applications that are not web facing but will be used by web facing services. I have OneAgent installed on all the servers that host the application. Is it possible to create an application in Dynatrace based on the servers that host it rather than by looking at the domain(s) associated?

Many thanks

Geoff

You can use host name or API for this purpose. But application in DT is in general monitoring of user perspective, which needs kind of requests executed in browser to work. So you have to have something like domain / ip / uri etc. Anything that may be helpful for defining application.

If you don’t have on those hosts interface available for users, you don’t need application (it’s something different that it was in appmon :) )
