Can not connect to dynaTrace FixPack server

Hello,

After installing the new 6 version I get the Administration error: FixPack error: Can not connect to dynaTrace FixPack server. Please verify your Internet connectivity.

However, I configured our proxy server in the dtserver.ini file as follows:

-DproxyHost=proxy.company.be
-DproxyPort=1234

Should I configure the proxy elsewhere to enable the fix pack server connection? Or is there another problem?

Which component is requesting the connection, I assume it is the server not the client?

thanks!

Hello,

Okey, it worked after manually specifying the proxy in there indeed. It is a bit strange though that the client is able to activate my license (using system proxy automatically) but isn't able to connect to the fix pack server using the same settings. It even displayed the proxy  in the 'currently used proxy' status line ... (smile)

Anyhow, my problem is fixed but this might be a candidate for a closer look in dev (wink)

cheers

jan

Great to hear that!

I'll create a follow up for potential discrepancies how the proxy settings are used.

Have a nice day,

Thomas

Hi Jan,

I checked internally with the developers, the Fixpack notification mechanism is implemented in the client, thus the proxy configuration should be performed in the client settings (dynaTrace client -> Settings -> dynaTrace Client -> Services -> Manually configure proxy). Please try configuring your proxy there.

If the problem persists, please also check the general availability of the proxy (e.g. using Internet Explorer) and maybe try to analyze the network traffic to the proxy when starting up the client.

If that doesn't help, please open a support case ticket for further assistence:
