Importing dynaTrace 5.6 trial version key

Hi,

I'm currently in the process of evaluating dynaTrace server tool for server monitoring. I have successfully installed the full package of dynaTrace 5.6 in the server machine. When I tried to open the dynaTrace Client, I was prompted to import the license key. I am instructed in the installation documentations to retrieve license online by using my user credentials. However the UserID & Password fields are disabled in the "Import a license" dialog box.

Please let us know how we can resolve it. I'm attaching the screenshot of the dialog window. ImportLicense.JPG

The user credentials fields were enabled after I launched the webstart client component and I successfully activated the license. I received your license key as well. Thank you so much!

Ramya,

as the dialog states you need to have an internet connection for the dynaTrace client to connect to the online license services. It seems that is not possible from your client machine. There are three options:

  • If HTTP connections are only possible via a proxy you can configure a proxy in this dialog.
  • If you cannot connect form the dynaTrace server (it looks like you are running the client on the same machine as the dynaTrace server) but you can connect the dynaTrace client to the dynaTrace server from a desktop machine that has acces to the internet then you can import the license online.
  • If that is also not an option and you are running in a complete offline environment then you can only install the license via file. I will contact you and send you your personal license key.
