Licensing

Hello,

recently my company bought dynatrace.

During the POC we were able to see where the user requests were coming from, that information is really useful as our internal tool is used accross the globe. We can for example see that the connection to our Indian hub is going and this kind of things...

We have a production license and a EUM volume license, I can provide the details but not on the public forum.

So far I've configured the dynatrace server and set the license and volume license, the geolocation database is up to date.

I'm unable to see the geolocalisation, the world map remains desesperately empty.

Do we have the correct license?

Regards,

Hello Reinhard,

The Page Action PurePaths and Visits are just empty.

The transaction flow just show webrequest <> tomcat server <> database

I did a search in the source of my js in FireBug and there is no 'dynatr' appearing.

I guess I'm missing a part of the configuration then, could you point me to a link in the documentation?

Pierre

Pierre,

you probaly want to install a webserver agent first: https://apmcommunity.compuware.com/community/display/DOCDT41/Web+Server+Agent+Configuration

and then you might want to configure UEM to your needs: https://apmcommunity.compuware.com/community/display/DOCDT41/User+Experience+Management+Administration

You will need to make sure to enable the right JS frameworks also.

Also if you are talking of a internal application, it's likely that your branch offices connect via VPN(private IP adresses), those would require explicit mapping to location as they cannot be mapped with geolocation obviously.

Maybe this webinar is also helpful for you: https://apmcommunity.compuware.com/community/display/LEARN/dynaLearn+Webinar+-+First+Steps+with+dynaTrace+UEM+-+January+12%2C+2012

Regards,

reinhard

Hi Reinhard,

thanks for the link, I can now see the user visits! I had to enable the user experience and inject the dt_agent.

Regards,

Pierre

Pierre,

What do Dashboards like Page Action PurePaths, Visits and Transaction Flow show you?

Have you configured UEM at all? If you open your webpage's source code in the browser does it contain a JavaScript include of the dynaTrace Agent?
