JDBC Connection Pool usage Glassfish

Hi,

Please help me to create measure that will give me Database pool name wise utilization on Glassfish. As in Weblogic I have some built in measures which help me to create dashboard that help me to monitor trend of database pool but I'm not having such built in measures for Glassfish.

Regards,
Amol Khawre

Hi Jalpesh,

Does the JMX browser, that is part of our measure creation dialog, show you any value from the agent on Glassfish? Or do you still not get any JXM values at all?

Best, Roman

Hi Roman,

It's showing  0   value for all attributes on Glassfish.

I would verify with a tool like JConsole that you really get values from JMX here. Basically eliminating that this is an issue of the agent not able to query the values vs. Glassfish not providing the metrics you expect here...

Best way to tell - run the same test with and without JMX enabled and compare. The overhead of enabling this has nothing to do with dynaTrace or the agent but with the app server - in your case Glassfish.

Hi Amol,

Is the JXM interface of your Glassfish instance active? You can try using the JMX browser (available via creating a new measure of type Custom JMX) to see what the app server exposes. Also try Google, I got a ton of hits for JDBC, JMX and Glassfish.

Best, Roman
