I've just installed DynaTrace Ajax 3 (on a Virtual XP running on a real W7 box) so I can test my site against IE8.
IE8 works OK - I launch it from the 'next steps' dashboard ('click here to start tracing > Internet Explorer'), and when I close the browser, I automatically get a record of the session appearing in the cockpit.
I want to benchmark it against Firefox (13.0.1), and I go through the same procedure ('click here to start tracing > Firefox'), it launches OK and I xan browse - but when I close the browser I get no recorded session in cockpit.
What's the diff? Why doesn't FF create a recorded session in the cockpit when I close it?

Hi
Can you clarify what dynaTrace Product and version you are using? Are you using the free dynaTrace AJAX Edition? Or are you using a dynaTrace Dev Team or Test Edition with a Browser Agent? In both cases it would be interesting to know which version you are using.
If it is the AJAX Edition you need to make sure to install 3.7 as this is the version that supports FF 13 - check out the release notes for details:AJAX Edition Release Notes
> Are you using the free dynaTrace AJAX Edition?
Yes.
It looks like I had already installed 3.7 (that's the default download), but I've reinstalled it now.
Regardless, FF still does not work.
Please double check that the plugin in Firefox is installed and also enabled. You should see a little dynaTrace icon in the statusbar. Then try again. If this doesnt solve your problem check the troubleshooting guide or send us your logfikes using the "Found a Bug" toolbar button
I can indeed launch Firefox from the DynaTrace menu, DynaTrace just doesn't DO anything with it.
Ah. I see the problem. I downloaded v15 of FF, which DynaTrace doesn't support I believe.
Hang on. I'm going to go get v13.
[ EDIT ] Nope. No joy.
Though I just installed FF v13 on the system, it immediately auto-upgraded itself to v15. (When I go check it now, it says it's up-to-date with v15.)
Which means there is essentially no way to test against FF using DynaTrace. (Everyone else must be encountering the same problem, I wonder how they manage...).
Hi Again
Your are right. If you automatically upgrade your FF you cant use the latest dynaTrace AJAX Edition right now as we do not yet support FF 15. An updated AJAX Edition that supports that browser will follow soon
Right now you either need to find a way to revert back to 13 or wait until we have support for 15
