Hello all,
We are in the process of migrating to 4.2 from 3.5.2 and I have a couple of questions regarding the agents shipped with dynatrace-agent-4.2.0.3154-unix.jar
1. What is the libdtagent.lel? Is it related to libdtagent.so?
2. Also, what is libdtagentcore.so?
3. Must we respect the directory tree structure created by the install program shipped with dynatrace-agent-4.2.0.3154-unix.jar in order to benefit from the new agent update mechanism?
Thanks,
Jean

Hi Andreas,
Thanks for your response. Yes, I know that the embedded installed would install only the files related to my OS. The jar now ships with several agents that we don't need. We are using only the Java agent and we thought we would distribute only the related binary to our test machines, using our own installer. Hence my 3 questions above.
Thanks,
Jean
got it. Well - then I suggest you install the agent on one of your machine using the -jar installer option. then bundle the installed files and distribute them to your other machines

You do not need to extract the .jar file. The .jar file includes agents for the different platforms. All you need to do is call "java -jar dynatrace-agent....jar". This will install the correct java agent on your machine in the correct folder structure
