Decompile source code - Error order failed

Hi All,

When I try to decompile a class with Source Lookup\Decompile source code, I got the next error: ExceptionHandler order failed.

Why happens that?
Is there an alternative workaround to decompile the class with dT?

Regards,
Joan Alonso

I am unable to find the "Source Lookup\Decompile source code" option in the Mac client - is this option supported?

In which dashlets are you looking for this options?
It is "only" available in dashlets such as PurePath & Methods - and - it is only available in the "Live" session. It is not available when viewing an offline/stored session

Hi Joan,

Try the following. This works great for me.

Description
JAD and JOD are old decompilers and don't handle latest JDKs additions.

To use JD as a decompiler for Java from dynaTrace client:

  • Download (http://java.decompiler.free.fr/) and install jd-gui on the machine (actually just copy the binary eg. to C:\tools).
  • Close dynaTrace Client.
  • Edit the client.properties file (for windows 7 that would be in C:\Users\<username>\.dynaTrace\dynaTrace 4.0.0\client\conf) and add this line: java.decompile.gui=C:\\tools
    jd-gui.exe
  • Restart dynaTrace client
